2015 History Lectures: Monroe, The Civil War to the 40’s

Andrew Lewis Burr Civil War

Viewing the many photographs from the Monroe Historical Society’s collection, Vic Casaretti was able to give us a glimpse of Monroe, CT’s agricultural roots, its architecture and the fashion. Beards were in! They have always been popular, but it seems like today they are again a fashion statement.

Thank you Vic for presenting a pictorial history of our town from the Civil War to the 40’s. Thanks to the Sr. Center for your hospitality.
