2015 ‘Monroe Through Time’ Book Launch

Our June 7th book launch and tour was a huge success. We would like to thank all our volunteers who helped before, during and after the event. We could not have done it without you.
We also welcome our 52 new member households to the society.

Launch of ‘Monroe through Time:’ June 7, 2015

A view under the tent erected on the grounds of Marian Heights showing part of the capacity turnout of 170-plus for the launch June 7 of the Monroe Historical Society’s illustrated chronicle “Monroe Through Time,” depicting the transformation of the Connecticut community over more than 300 years of history. The setting was The Castle on Route 111 the Kimball family is refurbishing as a home and for business purposes. Other images show exterior and interior and Vic Casaretti, the emcee for the presentation, garbed as James Monroe, the fifth president of the U.S.  Attendees were given a tour of The Castle and the opportunity to sample two new beer products created by the Veracious Brewing Company.  The first printing of the book is virtually sold out.   (Photos by John Babina Jr.)
